About Me
Richard Bush Books
Richard "Ricky" Bush has
been listening to, writing
about and playing the blues
for most of his adult life.
He has written articles
about the lives and careers
of many of the blues
musicians that he admires in
publications such as; Blues
Access, American Harmonica
Newsmagazine, Hittin' The
Note and Southwest Blues.
He has written hundreds of reviews of recorded blues
music and continues to do so on his blog called Back
In The Day to be found here: blog
After retiring from teaching journalism, world
geography and English to a couple of generations of
Texas teenagers, he set out to fulfill his promise to
himself to write a novel. Having accomplished that,
he continues working on the next one, when he's not
blowing the blues on his harmonica or listening to
the music or writing about it. Sometimes he can be
prodded into assisting his wife with the bookkeeping
for the small family oil and gas company that they
help build.
He lives in rural Texas with his wife, Virginia, in
the log home that they built and where they raised
two daughters and a son. He plans to continue to
enjoy his second career as a novelist. Richard will
happily share what he writes about with anyone who
has the interest. He is available for speaking
engagements.
